Excerpt from The Total Package, Chapter 7

I’ve got an interesting proposition for you. Before I make this proposition, however, I will ask only one thing of you: to consider my plan with a completely open mind, placing no limitations whatsoever upon yourself. My proposal is that from this day forward you will begin to see yourself as having the type of body you’ve always wanted. That’s right, think of what you would like to look like at this very moment. Hold that picture in your imagination. How would it make you feel to look your best? How would it make you feel to look fabulous in the types of clothes you like to wear, like that bathing suit you’ve always wanted? The answer is that it would make you feel great! It’s time you took me up on my proposition. It’s never too late to look and feel your best.

How does the thought of having the body you’ve always wanted make you feel? Before you jump to any conclusions (remember you’re approaching this with an open mind), I am not necessarily suggesting that you should strive to look like the Incredible Hulk or Arnold Schwarzenegger. What I am suggesting is that you start thinking about how a more sculpted and fit body would make you think and feel. Strength training is something that you can start doing immediately to begin improving your fitness level and body shape.

Believe It and Achieve It

Anything you want or aspire to in life begins as a single thought regardless of whether or not you actually believe that thought. As your subconscious mind begins to recognize this thought as being attainable, it will then become reality. Get rid of any limiting thoughts you have about your ability to sculpt your body. No matter what your body shape and fitness levels are today, you can improve them, and I’ll show you how.

Some of the most inspiring acts of bravery and athleticism I have ever seen are performed by the physically and mentally challenged kids who compete in the Special Olympics. The example of the Special Olympics, one we can all use in our daily lives, is to start from where we are today, believe we can accomplish our goal, and move towards that goal in some way every day. The goal of looking your best and becoming more fit and healthy is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Set your “better body goal” right now. Review the Five Steps to Success in Chapter 1, “A Fantastic Voyage,” and apply these principles to building the body you really want!
