Nemesis Boutique, founded in 2018, is a women-owned, LGBTQ+ friendly Etsy affiliate. They sell specialty candles and body care supplies — primarily reaching new customers through organic social media content.

Custom candles are trendy products among Millennial and Gen Z buyers. Nemesis Boutique satisfies the niche with body-positive relaxation and care products sourced with ecologically sustainable materials.

The brand’s organic strategy on Facebook and Twitter was not driving users into the awareness bucket of the marketing funnel, preventing growth. To correct this problem, Nemesis Boutique wanted to run a paid ad to reach more users and promote a Valentine’s Day sale.

My job was to create a snappy ad headline and caption for the campaign supported by product images.

Ad Design & Copy Strategy

Nemesis Boutique promotes creativity and self expression above all else. Customers can choose from over 40 colors and scents when personalizing their private candle and body care collection.

To represent these values, I used Canva to draft multiple designs for their website and social media ads. This process required the use of product images from the site that would serve as the background of a single image banner. We used “The Beautiful Bodies Collection” as our headline and emphasized Nemesis Boutique’s artisan approach to every purchase.

For the copy, I followed the AIDA strategy to craft each line of the ad for the user — encouraging them to visit the Etsy shop to view more. The final design pulls the strategy together with consistent messaging and product value. By highlighting Nemesis Boutique’s commitment to customers of all races, genders, and body types, we managed to drive more sales and social media engagement to the company.

Nemesis Boutique has since migrated its operations to a self-owned website.
